Paradise, Montana is located along Hwy. 200 in Sanders County, just a few
miles east of Plains, Montana. Paradise was originally developed as a station
for the Northern Pacific Railroad. It was a vital water supply stop before the
climbing over the Bitterroot Range into Idaho. One story of the origins of the
town's name says that was named after a roadhouse on the trail called 'Pair
O'Dice.'
The Clark Fork River runs parallel to the town, and provides tons of
recreational opportunities, with fishing, boating, water skiing, at the top of
the list!
Although Paradise is a tiny community with little commerce, residents are
only 10 minutes away from Plains, Montana, which is well equipped with
businesses providing all the everyday essentials, and about an hour from
Missoula, for those larger shopping excursions. Other towns near Paradise
are: Superior, MT (14.8 miles), Hot Springs, MT (17.6 miles), St.
Regis, MT (21.5 miles), & Alberton, MT (34.6 miles).
